Resources and Websites

The Environmental Working Group (EWG)
-An incredible resource for finding out everything from the effects of cell phone radiation to what sunscreen is safest to put on our skin. The founders of EWG spend their lives making us and our government aware of all the toxic chemicals and foods in our world. One of my top favorite and trusted websites for information.

Skin Deep
-From the founders of the EWG, an online resource where you can see how toxic your beauty products are. Simply type in the item and Skin Deep will give you its toxicity rating. You can also search for products that are safer for you and your family on the site.

The Weston Price Foundation
-The Weston A. Price Foundation is a charity founded in 1999 to share the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized people groups established the guidelines of optimal healthy human diets. His research demonstrated that people achieve perfect physical form and perfect health, generation after generation, only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital fat-soluble activators found only in animal fats.

-Speaking of saving money, this is the best place (so far) that I have found to buy some of the organic supplements I use and recommend. They usually have a deal on free shipping too, if you spend a certain amount (sometimes $49, sometimes $99) (saves shopping time as well). They don't have everything, but enough to really save some room in your food budget since supplements can get pricey.

TED (technology, entertainment, design)
-The TED website can keep you entertained and learning for hours. The awesome thing is that each speech made on TED is 20 minutes or less. You can type in what subject you would like to hear an expert talk about, and chances are, they have it ready to view. I will be referring to TED talks frequently when I come across those that refer to health. A learning-nerd's heaven.

Navitas Naturals
-Not only does this company have great products, but the real gem on their site is the recipe database. I've gotten tons of baking ideas that don't have the usual sugar/flour ingredient requirement. Just scroll over the product list to find your new favorite healthy dessert recipe, and more.
